Hi Hugh, Can you let us know what the fabric content is of your upholstery and what the cleaning/care instructions are for it if you have them? You need something that will not only work on blood stains but also on your fabric. Whatever you try, you'll want to find a spot on the underside to test any cleaning methods you use to make sure they don't bleach or stain the fabric. Let us know and we can try to get you some ideas!

Hi Hugh,

  • Lightly brush as much of the dried blood as you can.
  • With a few clean white rags and clear water, preferrably a heavy terry cloth style to soak up all the moisture, soak the area to dilute the blood.
  • Use some 3% Hydrogen Peroxide on your rag (carefully, it can fade fabric-try a small area first)
  • BLOT the stained area - Do NOT rub and spread the stain further. Use the towel "with pressure" to soak up all liquid.
  • If it still doesn't come up - Try a bit of regular laundry detergent in your water.
  • Rinse, Blot again and let Dry - Try this a couple of times as needed.

Is someone having night nose-bleeds and sleeping on the couch? if so, when you DO get the stain up, invest in some arm covers for that lovely new furniture.

Hope this Helps ~ Good Luck
