Whirlpool Affresh Review: Four Products

Whirlpool not only makes quality appliances but has a line of cleaning products that can add freshness to your entire house. Each product in the Affresh line is designed for a specific appliance and contains a unique scent that freshens as it cleans. The products that I tried out are as follows:

Affresh Stainless Steel Cleaner

The Stainless Steel Cleaner in comes in a fresh plum scent and is priced at $7.99 for a 16 ounce spray bottle. This cleaner is perfect for cleaning off fingerprints and smudges from stainless appliances such as refrigerators and stoves. It is simple to use since it is in a spray bottle. All you need to do is spray it on the appliance and wipe until it shines. I went over it with a soft cloth after I wiped it off to achieve a super shiny finish. I noticed that there were less fingerprints on my appliances after using this cleaner. With stainless steel appliances, it can often be difficult to get a smudge-free shine but with this product I found it to be easy. I also liked the fresh plum scent that this product contained.

Affresh Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner

Affresh Kitchen Cleaner

The Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner comes in a clean citrus scent and is priced at $4.99 for a 16 ounce spray bottle. This product is designed to cut through grease and residue and leave a streak free shine. It is great for cleaning up kitchen spills and will leave your kitchen smelling citrus fresh and clean. I used this product on a range of surfaces from kitchen countertops to my KitchenAid mixer. I was pleased with the results and felt that the cleaner was effective for cleaning up daily messes with ease.

Affresh Cooktop Cleaner

The Cooktop Cleaner comes with cleaning pads and costs $4.49 for an eight ounce bottle. This cleaner is non-abrasive and can be used on ceramic, porcelain and glass cooktops. I used it on my stainless steel range with black ceramic top. This is normally a difficult task due to baked on residue and streaking. I used this product and the cleaning pads that came with it and was pleased with the results. I had to wipe it several times to remove all of the product but once it was clean, I was satisfied with the streak free shine.

Affresh Dishwasher & Disposal Cleaner

The Dishwasher & Disposal Cleaner comes in a light lemon scent and contains six tabs for $5.99. This product cleans both dishwashers and garbage disposals and leaves a fresh clean scent. All dishwashers and disposals are susceptible to odors due to food particles and mineral build-up. This cleaner is designed to activate with water and uses oxygenated bubbles to remove odors at their source. Whirlpool recommends that this product be used monthly for best results. I found that this product was simple to use and liked the lingering lemon scent. To use in the garbage disposal, place a tablet in the disposal, turn on hot water and run the disposal for 15 seconds. Turn it off and let it sit for a half hour then flush with hot water. For the dishwasher, place a tablet in the detergent tray then run on the highest setting. You may want to run the dishwasher for an additional cycle since the lemon scent can linger after the first cycle.

Overall, I am very pleased with all the products by Affresh. I know that I plan on continuing to use each of them and feel that they are unique since they clean and freshen at the same time.
